Message from Coach Thompson

Stay Home; Stay Safe; Grow

Recent events in our society’s battle with COVID-19; the CoronaVirus; the Chinese Virus - whatever you want to call it or the name of the day, have caused quite a shift from our normal way of doing things. In fact, the phrase “new norm” has even emerged. As you sift through the coming weeks, which are projected to be the worst as far as number of cases and deaths, I have a challenge for you.

Stay Home; Stay Safe; and Grow.

Stay Home - Don’t go out unless you absolutely have to for essential supplies and/or your job.

Stay Safe - Take all the necessary precautions when you leave; when you return; and when you handle your normal day to day tasks. Don’t live in fear, but be vigilant of what is going on and how you and your families need to stay safe.

Grow - while your safety and and the safety of your families is of the utmost importance, but I really feel we need to take the opportunities that we have been given during this time of quarantine to GROW. We need to GROW in our relationship with the Lord; we need to GROW to be the best versions of ourselves as husbands/wives, dads/moms; and we need to leave this time by GROWING professionally. What a true waste this time of hunkering down would truly be if we leave it here in a few days, weeks, months, whatever and we look back and say, “Man, I wasted my time.” Be a better version of yourself when we leave this chapter of our lives. GROW.

FCA Message from Jason Brand & Billy Holder

God’s Faithfulness

“The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.” - 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 (NIV)

“The resurrection does not solve our problems about dying and death. It is not the happy ending to our life’s struggle, nor is it the big surprise that God has kept in store for us. No, the resurrection is the expression of God’s faithfulness to Jesus and to all God’s children. Through the resurrection, God has said to Jesus, “You are indeed my beloved Son, and my love is everlasting,” and to us God has said, “You indeed are my beloved children, and my love is everlasting.” The resurrection is God’s way of revealing to us that nothing that belongs to God will ever go to waste. What belongs to God will never get lost — not even our mortal bodies. The resurrection doesn’t answer any of our curious questions about life after death, such as: How will it be? How will it look? But it does reveal to us that, indeed, love is stronger than death. After that revelation, we must remain silent, leave the whys, wheres, hows, and whens behind, and simply trust.’ ~ Henri Nouwen
